Our COVID-19 response

Clean Air COVID-19 Response 03.11.2020

Lockdown 2

New lockdown measures will come into effect on Thursday 5th November.

These new measures do not currently impact any aspect of our business. We do not anticipate any delay to our schedule of works.

Where team members can work effectively from home, they are encouraged to do so.

Our installation teams can continue to operate and can travel outside Greater Manchester to fit our fume cupboards and extract systems.

Our commissioning teams can also continue to operate across the country, as can our service and maintenance teams.

We can accept deliveries of materials and make deliveries.

Of course, as a responsible company, our teams continue to follow the government guidance and the robust safety protocols we have introduced.

We regularly remind our teams of the need to behave responsibly.

If you have any concerns or queries please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The latest government guidance is here.

Clean Air COVID-19 Response 10.07.2020

Business resilience and continuity

At a time when some manufacturing sectors are struggling, our order book remains strong. We put this down to our reputation for delivering innovative fume cupboard and extract system solutions on time and to budget.

Our Clean Air team has worked incredibly flexibly over the past few months to keep our clients’ projects on track. Each team member has shown a real commitment to ensuring our clients receive an excellent product and excellent service.

We’ve flexed our work patterns and working hours to meet customers’ revised schedules. One of our installation teams even worked 12 days straight to bring a project back on time after the pandemic had closed the site for several weeks.

It’s also a good feeling to be involved with the ongoing work to find a vaccine for coronavirus. Many of our repeat clients are pharma and drug discovery companies and we’re proud our fume cupboards are part of the research into this.

If you’re looking for high quality fume cupboards, extract systems and service and maintenance, talk to our friendly team. They will go the extra mile to ensure your project goes smoothly.

Business as nearly usual

As the country’s infrastructure starts to reopen, the Clean Air teams are all working in our new normal. Demand for our fume cupboards remains strong, so we have a robust Safe Operating Procedure designed to keep our teams, our clients and their staff safe.

The office teams continue to work from home, with a single presence on site to respond to the phone and support the remote teams.

Our Design, Contracts, Sales and Maintenance departments are busy and continue to work with our clients to deliver their projects. We are the supplier of choice to several drug discovery companies and some of our jobs are Coronavirus related.

Production is working hard to fulfil and dispatch our orders. The team is following social distancing guidance and all the other measures we have in place.

Our Maintenance department is back on the road. We now have a very small backlog of calls to catch up on, and are available for service and maintenance visits across the UK.

The Clean Air installation teams are working in the North West of England and also in Northern Ireland. We ensure their travel and accommodation arrangements are as safe as they can possibly be.

Our teams know who to contact if they have any issues and each and every Clean Air team member has chosen to be at work.

In these troubling times, we are endeavouring to make our service as seamless as it always is. If you have any queries, wish to discuss our advanced technology fume cupboards or ask about maintenance visits, just contact us.

Above all, please stay safe and take care of yourselves and others.

The Clean Air Site Teams

Clean Air’s mantra has always been safety. We’re committed to keeping fume cupboard operators, staff and students safe and protected. The same has always applied to our teams too – we look after our people with the same professionalism and passion we apply to our clients.

We’ve developed a Safe Operating Procedure for our site engineers and for our teams. It’s designed to keep them and those they work with and around safe. We also have a new Risk Assessment available for our clients if they require it.

Our site teams are currently working in Liverpool and Leeds. Next week some will be in Northern Ireland and London too.

We’re doing our homework on travel and accommodation for them, keeping safety at the forefront when we make their bookings. Every single member of our teams knows how to raise a concern and who to speak to about it. We would never put them or anyone else in harm’s way. We would never ask them to go anywhere they are not comfortable visiting.

We’re speaking to our suppliers, seeking assurance they are taking the same approach.

In this way we are doing our bit to keep our clients’ projects on track, our teams employed and the economy moving.

If you have a project you want to discuss, just contact us.

The Clean Air Service & Maintenance team

Our service and maintenance visits restarted this week. We developed guidelines to keep our engineers and our clients safe. These include maintaining social distancing and sanitising before and after the service. It’s proven to be successful, with our engineer and our clients reporting that they felt the measures we’ve introduced help to keep them safe and protected, just like our fume cupboards!

Our office-based teams are working from home, so if you wish to book a visit, discuss your scheduled maintenance or request a quote, email us at service@cleanairltd.co.uk – we’ll get straight back to you.

Sales & Operations

Our teams have the technology to work from home and are all continuing to complete fume cupboard and extract system quotations, designs and drawings. We’re managing our projects and completing installations.

Installation & Commissioning

All our site teams are currently working, and we are prioritising our projects.

If you feel your project is a priority, or you require an urgent installation, please contact us – we will work with you to reach a solution.

Our COVID-19 Response Ethos

Just to reiterate what we said from the beginning of this outbreak, the Clean Air COVID-19 response is to work smart and work together. By doing this we can all be prepared for the next business phase and support each other to get back on track.

It’s the kindness and support that we give to each other that will help us through these challenging times.

Above all, please stay safe and take care of yourselves and others.

If you wish to book a service and maintenance appointment, feel free to get in touch. You can email us at service@cleanairltd.co.uk  – please allow a couple of days for a response as we catch up on our rescheduling.

As we continue to find ways to work safely with each other we can contribute to our individual and collective well being, to keeping our clients and suppliers working, and to kick-starting our economy.

Clean Air COVID-19 Response 07.04.2020

A message for our suppliers

This is a message from our Managing Director, Will Perrott.

It’s interesting to see the varied responses of different organisations to these strange times.

The subject of potential delays to receiving customer payments has been raised by our accountant and some of my industry contacts. I suspect one or two debtors will use the current situation as a reason to delay making payments. The good thing is, I’m confident the majority of the customers that we work for are not like that.

The flip side is making sure we continue to pay our supply chain on the agreed terms. Fortunately, we have strong reserves and are making sure all our suppliers are paid on time. If a supplier needs early payment, then we are also arranging that on a case by case basis. Our suppliers are an integral part of our operation; we’ve already brought orders forward to support other businesses and traders.

At times like this we all need to look after each other.

Clean Air COVID-19 Response 01.04.2020

Clean Air is still manufacturing. We are taking orders. We have component stock.

Originally, we had considered shutting down our manufacturing operation. However, many of our clients are part of the fight against Coronavirus and still need our fume cupboards and extract systems.

Therefore, we have decided that while our suppliers can continue to supply materials, or until guidance changes, we will continue to produce our product ranges.

Our priority is to keep our teams and our communities safe during the Coronavirus outbreak. We are following all government recommendations. Our office staff are working from home. Our team is working safely and practising social distancing and safety protocols in our factory. They live locally and none of them are using public transport. They have chosen to continue working.

If you have an order with us our promise to you is that we will update you weekly.

If you wish to discuss a quotation or placing an order with us, please contact us.

Installation & Commissioning

All our site teams are currently working, and we are prioritising our projects.

If you feel your project is a priority, or you require an urgent installation, please contact us – we will work with you to reach a solution.

The Clean Air Service & Maintenance team

Due to the lack of available accommodation across the country, we have suspended our service calls for now.

If you have booked a visit, as soon as we can resume operations we will be in contact with you to rearrange our appointment. We are confident that we have sufficient capacity to catch up on the delayed work.

If you have a query or an urgent requirement for the maintenance of equipment please contact us – we will do our very best to help you.

If you wish to book a service and maintenance appointment, feel free to get in touch.
