High Heat Load Fume Cupboards
Meeting BS EN 14175-7 – Fume Cupboards for high heat and acidic load – requires a special purpose fume cupboard classified for special applications involving high heat load within the workspace. The fume cupboard requires additional construction, safety, operating and maintenance features to those identified in BS EN 14175-1 to BS EN 14175-6 whilst maintaining containment. Heat sources of 4 kW and above per linear metre inner width of the fume cupboard can be considered as high heat loads.
Clean Air has considerable expertise in the design and manufacture of special fume cupboards of varying sizes for high heat load. We have undertaken extensive tests within our own in-house type-testing facility to confirm that they provide the containment necessary to meet the requirements of BS EN 14175-7. See our case study and contact us for more information.
Our experience shows that fume cupboards for high heat load offer much safer working conditions when operated with fixed air volume flow.
Please be advised that existing fume cupboards and ‘standard designs’ cannot be guaranteed as suitable for use with high heat load unless extensively tested to the requirements of BS EN 14175-7.
Clean Air can assist you to confirm the suitability of your fume cupboard design using our type-testing capabilities either in-house or at your facility.
