Dr Andrew Manning CEng MIMechE 

Andy joined Clean Air, a market-leading designer and manufacturer of advanced technology fume cupboards and extract systems, in 2021. His remit is to drive product development and innovation, keeping Clean Air at the leading edge of fume cupboard design and delivery.

Andy has a master’s degree in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University and a PhD from Northumbria University, graduating in 2022. He previously worked for the MoD in the testing and inspection of HMS Queen Elizabeth during its construction and sea trials. He was also an equipment specialist for chilled water and ventilation systems.

After the MoD, he moved into CFD modelling and experimental testing of complex air flow of exhaust systems using a range of cutting edge equipment as part of his PhD.

Andy is also a Chartered Engineer and a member of the IMechE.
