Clean Air, a UK leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of fume cupboards and fume extract systems, is unveiling the Discovery fume cupboard at this year’s Lab Innovations. This brand-new addition to its product range is designed to combine safety, sustainability, and affordability.
Developed without the use of the harmful greenhouse gas SF₆ – in line with Clean Air’s sustainable ethos – Discovery has been designed and validated using advanced CFD modelling, analysing millions of data points to ensure excellent fume containment. Like all Clean Air products, it carries the company’s hallmark of strong design, sustainability, and safety-first performance.
So why develop a new fume cupboard? As Dr Andy Manning, R&D Manager at Clean Air, explains:
“Discovery is our response to what the lab community has been asking for – a cost-efficient, stylish, and sustainable unit that still delivers the high standards of containment and design that Clean Air is renowned for. It’s about making world-class safety accessible.”
Featuring Clean Air’s signature profiled inlets for smooth airflow and robust containment, Discovery offers an affordable solution without compromise. It is a safe and stylish unit designed to protect users while keeping sustainability at the heart of the process.
Visitors to Lab Innovations at the NEC, 29-30 October, can see the Discovery alongside the OPTIMAX fume cupboard on Stand F90. Clean Air will also be showcasing its extract system expertise – including corrosion-resistant plastic ductwork manufactured and installed by the company’s team. After all, a ducted fume cupboard without properly designed ductwork is like a ductless fume cupboard without a filter: it may look complete, but it won’t protect you properly.
As always, Clean Air is giving something back. For every visitor to the stand, the company will plant a UK native sapling – and provide a certificate detailing the location and species. More than 800 trees have already been planted since 2023.
Come and meet the team, explore Discovery up close, and see how Clean Air continues to lead the way in safe, sustainable laboratory solutions.
