Clean Air successfully transitions to ISO 45001:2018

By Louise Barnes

Clean Air fume cupboards are designed to keep operators safe. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients and stakeholders is our priority. We are delighted to have added the new ISO 45001:2018 management standard for occupational health and safety to our existing ISO 14001 for our Environmental Management and ISO 9001 for our Quality Management systems. We achieved the updated standard with zero non-conformances.

ISO 45001:2018 has been implemented to help us reduce workplace risks and protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases.

Having a focus on risk-based thinking, this supports our proactive approach to risk management and demonstrates our commitment to safety to our staff and our clients.

We strive to continually improve our working practices and controls, looking ahead to reduce any potential risks from our operations. Our robust management system enables us to monitor our H&S performance and ensure compliance to legal and regulatory requirements.

ISO 45001:2018 links seamlessly with our existing quality and environmental management systems to create an integrated management system. The framework assists us in clearly identifying H&S and wellbeing risks and opportunities within Clean Air and our operations. It strengthens consultation with our workforce and customers relative to safe operations and wellbeing.

At Clean Air we consider a constructive, independent perspective to our quality and other management systems vital. Our external consultants, QEBM Ltd, have worked with us to ensure we achieve and maintain our accreditations, continually improving our systems, processes and workplace efficiency.
